Maof - Joining Hands
Maof means vision, and is derived from the Hebrew word for "flight".
The Heschel Center's annual Maof seminar is a three-day conference
for representatives of leading environmental organizations and relevant
government offices, aimed at networking and developing a joint vision
for social change. Last year, the Maof seminar took place near the
Dead Sea, examining a variety of environmental issues related to the area,
including social, economic, geopolitical and ecological perspectives.
This year, we convened at Nir Etzion in northern Israel, and examined
issues of public health. By assembling this meeting of the minds,
the Heschel Center strives to develop new ideas and a joint agenda,
and to create a network of environmental organization leadership.
